Once the mold is used to make soap, it should not be used for food production. To avoid mold damage, do not use sharp metal tools to cut or remove contents. Never place near an open flame, under a broiler, or on a cooktop burner.
Melt & Pour Soap: Slowly pour melted soap no hotter than 130ºF into the mold. Allow soap to harden, then open the mold and remove the soap. Trim edges with a potato peeler or spatula, then slice them into bars.
Cold Process Soap: Slowly pour traced soap into the mold. After at least 24 hours, remove soap from the mold with gloved hands. If desired, trim the edges with a potato peeler or spatula. Slice into bars and allow soap to cure for 4-8 weeks. Some CP soap recipes may require a week to harden enough to remove from the mold. If this is the case with your recipe, we recommend adding sodium lactate to your ley water to assist with creating a harder bar faster.
Hot Process Soap: Scoop hot process soap into the mold. Gently tap the mold onto the counter to remove air pockets. Allow soap to cool and harden. (This can take up to 48 hours.) Open the mold and remove the soap loaf. If desired, trim the edges with a potato peeler or spatula. Slice into bars. Care: Hand wash the mold in warm, sudsy water.
Our most popular mold. This traditional loaf makes eight one-inch slices of soap and is perfect for 2-3 lb. batches. The loaf is perfectly straight without rounded corners. Mold walls are built with extra thickness to prevent bowing.
