Description
Microcrystalline is soft and tacky petroleum derived wax that is useful in many different applications. It has a melting point of 152-161 degrees F but is not hard and brittle like other parffin waxes. Packaged in pastilles so it is easy to measure and melt without having to cut slabs.
In candles, microcrystalline is used to remove mottling, increase translucency, lenghten burn time and as an additive to make paraffin waxes tackier and more flexible.
Microcrystalline is a must-have additive for cut-n-carve candles to make the layers stick together! Use 50 grams of micro for every 10 lbs. of paraffin wax for core candles and colored layer wax.
In personal care products, microcrystalline improves the consistency of hair pomades, body lotions and creams. It is effective in locking in the moisture for lip balms and lip sticks.
