How to Make Daisy Flower Candles!

If you’re looking for a candle project that instantly makes people smile, daisy flower candles are it. These bright, cheerful candles look like tiny bouquets sitting right on top of your candle. The best part? They’re surprisingly easy to make once you know the trick to creating the daisy embeds.

These candles are perfect for spring collections, gifts, or craft show sellers who want something that stands out on the table.

Let’s walk through exactly how to make them.  Add this to your cart to get the downloadable PDF version.

Equipment Needed

  • Heat source (hot plate or double boiler)
  • Small pouring pitchers (one for each color works best)
  • Metal spoons or stirring sticks
  • Drill with a 1/8" drill bit
  • Heat gun

Supplies Needed - (See below for products used)

Step 1: Make the Container Candle Base

Start by preparing your container candle.

  1. Place your burning instruction label on the bottom of the tumbler.
  2. Secure your CD-10 wick to the bottom of the tumbler using wick stick-em tape.
  3. Melt your container wax to 180 degrees F.
  4. Add fragrance oil and dye if desired.  Hint:  Dark colored daisies look great on white wax, while white daisies look great on colored wax)
  5. Pour the wax into the tumbler, stopping about 1 inch from the top of the jar.

This headspace is important because it leaves room for the daisy embeds.

Allow the candle to cool completely before adding the daisies.

Step 2: Prepare the Daisy Mold

Daisy petals are delicate, so preparation matters.  Lightly spray the daisy mold with mold release spray.  This helps the petals release cleanly and prevents them from snapping when unmolding.

Step 3: Pour the Daisy Centers

  1. Melt your pillar or votive wax (this wax is harder and works best for embeds).
  2. Add dye for the center color.
  3. Pour a small amount into the center circle of the mold.

Let this sit 15–20 minutes until a thick skin forms on the wax.

Step 4: Pour the Petals

Once the center has set enough to stay in place:

  1. Melt wax and color it with a contrasting color for the petals.
  2. Carefully pour wax into the petal cavities until the mold is full.

Allow the daisies to cool for at least 1 hour.

It’s tempting to pop them out early, but if the wax isn’t fully hardened, the petals will break off.

Step 5: Remove the Daisies

Once fully cooled:

  1. Gently flex the mold.
  2. Slowly remove the flower.

Take your time here to keep the petals intact.

Step 6: Drill the Wick Hole

To place the daisy on the candle:  Use a drill with a 1/8" drill bit.  Carefully drill through the center of the flower.

Go slow and steady so the wax doesn’t crack.

Step 7: Attach the Daisy to the Candle

Now for the fun part.

  1. Use a heat gun to gently warm the top surface of the candle.
  2. Melt just enough wax so the flower will stick.
  3. Thread the wick through the hole in the daisy.
  4. Slide the daisy down until it sits on top of the candle.

The melted wax will help secure it in place.

Step 8: Trim the Wick

  • Trim the wick to about ¼ inch above the daisy.
  • Add your burning instruction label, and your candle is ready.

And just like that — you have a beautiful daisy candle.

These look amazing in bright spring colors like red, purple, yellow, blue, and green. They’re also fun to customize with different fragrance oils to match the color theme.

Once you make a few, you’ll see why these candles become instant favorites for spring displays, gifts, and craft markets.
